In the 1990’s Rakesh “Rocky” Patel created the Indian Tobac line of cigars. A Hollywood Attorney to stars like Gene Hackman and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patel spent many hours between sets breathing the aromatic scents of fine cigars. As he sat and observed cigar aficionados he decided to sell his practice and learn the trade. Traveling to Honduras, he spent five years learning everything he could about the cigar business. He spent time in the fields as well as the barn. In 2002 he decided to change the name to Rocky Patel Premium Cigars. The following year Rocky Patel introduced the Vintage 1990 and Vintage 1992 cigar line.
Rocky made his dreams in the cigar industry come true after his hard work and constant marketing. In 2006 alone, Rocky Patel brought in over 25 million dollars in sales and the numbers just kept getting bigger. The following year over 16 million cigars were produced. In 2008 Rocky Patel earned one of the highest ratings on any cigar in the World – a 95! Rocky Patel Cigars have grown from a mere 2 lines to nearly 20 lines and they’re a part of every major cigar chain in the world.
